| Support Team Azalea Charities, with goal of 50+ members participating in the ING Marathon and Half Marathon in Atlanta Georgia on March 21, 2010.
You can make a donation in the name of a specific team member by using the drop down menu above, or you can choose to support the whole team by using the “Make a Contribution” box at the bottom of the page. No amount you are able to contribute is too small.
Our runners are dedicating their ING marathon or half-marathon in 2010 to ‘Aid for Wounded Soldiers’, a 501(c)(3) non-profit project that provides comfort and relief items for U.S. service personnel at the Atlanta VA Medical Center who are sick, injured or wounded from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Staffed with 100% volunteers, contributions typically go toward the purchase of specific items requested by wounded personnel, their families and the staff at military and veterans medical centers, and Fisher House rehabilitation facilities each week.
We also provide financial support to CrisisLink (a Hotline for U.S. wounded soldiers and their families), Hope for the Warriors, and special projects for wounded service personnel. Many of the servicemen and women are grievously wounded and will require long hospitalization or rehabilitation. The purpose of our mission is to lift their spirits, enhance their morale, as well as impact a lifetime of assistance and support well after these proud warriors are no longer in the headlines.
