|
| The Shawna Kilbert Cervical Cancer Project is a voluntary non-profit grassroots group helping women fight cervical cancer in Central California. We are a “grassroots” type of organization in that 100% of the funds raised will go directly back to helping women in our LOCAL community in their fight & hopefully prevention of cervical cancer. Funds raised will assist women who are fighting cervical cancer through providing meals, transportation, wigs, funds, emotional support, education, grocery shopping, childcare and any other thing that a mom or wife needs to help with to help make her family run smoothly during her fight with cervical cancer.
Did you know that:
•Every year, almost 11,000 women in the United States get cervical cancer and over 3,700 women die from it.
•In the United States, the Pap test saves the lives of 70% of the women who might have died from cervical cancer without the test.
•Recent advances in screening and the availability of a vaccine hold the promise to wipe out cervical cancer.
•World wide, cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women. |
