| Hello Everyone!
I hope this email finds you all well today! I want to share with you the reason for this whole fundraising campaign. I’ll try to keep it short…
In the Fall of 2007, I became part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program here in Chicago and met my Little Sis, Nicole. I met her, her 4 (soon to be 5) siblings, her grandmother, mother, aunt and cousin. Living together meagerly but happily in a very small house in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. As you might imagine, Nicole is a primary caretaker of her younger siblings; she doesn’t get the opportunities that most of us were given as children. No bike for the summer, after school sports, birthday parties, sometimes not much for dinner.
Nicole is a very compassionate, intelligent, resilient and spirited girl. Upon hearing of my grandfather’s passing, she continues to ask how my grandmother is doing. She can’t wait until the Spring when I said I will take her to meet my mom (she always asks to meet my mom). She is an exemplary and outstanding student at her school. And she deserves the opportunity to go to camp this summer. In light of her aforementioned qualities, her talents could go to waste without the support and guidance of those in a position to provide an opportunity like this.
So I am asking for your help to support Nicole’s summer camp experience. Knowing all of you personally, I understand you might be in transition. Perhaps getting married, buying or selling a house, having a baby or looking for a new career. But I know the outstanding group of people who I am reaching out to is also a kind hearted and responsible bunch. Please help Nicole go to Girls in the Game Summer Camp this year!
Many Thanks,
Brenna |
