| I am running for all of those men and women who are willing to sacrifice their lives for something bigger than themselves. I am running in honor of the sacrifices that have already been made for our country, for all of our freedoms, for these defended rights given to my family...to me. I am running because I have personally listened, felt and seen the effects of these sacrifices. I KNOW from these sacrifices, that Freedom is NOT Free.
I am running in honor of these men and women, to include my husband, Donald, a USMC Gunner. I am especially running in honor of our friends who have already given their lives (KIA) in the name of freedom: Cpl John R. Stalvey & LCpl Adam Bishop. I am running in honor of our friends who were wounded in action for these same freedoms: Capt Tom Wilberg, Capt Jeremy Wilkinson, Gunner Cannon Cargile, Cpl Eliel Quinones, LCpl Brandin Andrukitis & LCpl Jake Morris.
I am raising $1000 for each of their sacrifices, sacrifices they have already made. I am running because "thank you" just isn't enough.
I run because I can. That's my right as an American. Now I run to support and hail those who sacrifice without fail. Because No sacrifice will be forgotten nor a need unmet.
I am running 26.2 miles on October 26, 2008 on our nation's capital in honor of these brave men and for all members of the U.S. military, men and women, who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice all for the name of Freedom.
Please help me raise $9,000 for this cause, HOPE FOR THE WARRIORS.

On their own, our service members and their families are awe inspiring in the face of their disabilities and hardships - courageous and resolute. However, it is with the support of a grateful nation that they remain unfaltering in their determination and find hope and purpose beyond recovery. As a united support network, all individuals, whether of great or small means, can find an opportunity to honor those who have willingly sacrificed to defend and protect our freedom. I invite you to take part in the inspirational lives of these young men and women and make it known that they never stand alone. Even if you don't believe or agree with what's going on in the world's events... these men and women voluntarily say, "I will, so you don't have to."
