| I would not classify myself as a runner. However, in 2004, Nick, my husband and best friend was deployed to Iraq, and I decided that it would be a good year to train for a marathon. That year, I ran the 29th Annual Marine Corps Marathon. I learned that running 26.2 miles was a little crazy and a lot of fun, so the next year, I ran it again. In 2006, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Robin & Shannon (co-founders), and to Hope for the Warriors, and with those introductions, I was given a GREAT reason to run. I realized that as Nick, a true warrior, does his part for our country, I could do my small part. In 2006, I successfully raised over $2000. Last year, I raised over $3000. This year I will try to raise more. Nick will re-deploy to Iraq as I train, raise money, and run. He is doing his part. I am doing mine. Please do your part - donate.
I thank you for your generous donations. |
