| Carole Turner's Hope for the Warriors |
|
| Hello All! Well I did it. I completed the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon, had fun AND, most importantly, raised funds for our injured servicemembers through my chosen charity of Hope for the Warriors. Together we raised more than $1000, all of which will go to help our wounded warriors and their families as they face a changed future. Thank you to all who supported me, with donations, cheers or kind wishes because it all motivated me to the finish line. I've included a picture of one of the Wounded Service members your donations have helped. For the past 8 months, I've been working with Cpl. Ronnie Porta and his family to install a new bathroom in his parent's home so that he could spend time convalescing with his family. Ronnie was badly injured in Iraq and needed an adaptive, dedicated bathroom before he could spend any time at home. As you can see, Ronnie is now at home, thanks to the Hope for the Warrior's Warrior Wish program. Thanks again! |
