Goal

Whether you’re running in the marathon or supporting a friend who’s running, make Texas Children’s Hospital your “reason” for the run and help us serve the health care needs of underprivileged children. Your commitment to the hospital ensures we can continue to provide the very best in pediatric patient care, education and research.

Texas Children's is commited to quality patient care for all children served—regardless of a family’s ability to pay. We provide an average of $80 million in charity care and community outreach annually, helping thousands of medically underserved children receive free primary health care and preventive education through programs like our Mobile Clinics and Project Medical Home.

Mobile Clinics
Texas Children's two mobile clinics are fully equipped medical clinics designed to bring primary care to elementary school children in some of Houston’s most underserved communities. Both mobile clinics have recorded more than 27,000 patient encounters so far. These clinics also serve to connect children to a permanent “medical home”—usually a Project Medical Home.

Project Medical Home
A Project Medical Home provides a bilingual staff and longer office hours to make primary and preventive care more accessible for working families. Texas Children’s currently operates four Project Medical Home practices, which record more than 15,000 patient visits annually.

The money you raise will support charity care which helps underwrite the cost of immunizations, medical equipment, lab fees, prescription medications and medical supplies for both of these vital programs, as well as financial aid for patients.

Run for Texas Children's Hospital and help ensure every child in need receives the care he or she deserves. Thank you for your support and for helping us heal sick children.

Sean's Story
Julia and Michael are one set of parents who can attest to the tremendous commitment all families experience at Texas Children’s. The day their first son, Sean, came into the world is the same day, two years later, they found out they might lose him to acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Now, that fateful day has become an anniversary for the Emersons to give back to Texas Children’s Hospital where Sean received three years of expert treatment and compassionate care that eventually sent his cancer into remission. Now when Sean celebrates his birthday, it isn’t with toys and presents—it’s with a request for his friends to give to the hospital that saved his life.
