Fun Fact: It is 70 miles from the ULBGC Headquarters office in the Chicago Loop to the ULBGC Campgrounds in Salem, Wisconsin.
Every summer, in every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship on the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know someone cares about them.
Union League Boys and Girls Clubs and Summer Camp in Salem, Wisconsin offer that and more. Club and Camp programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys and Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow - all while having fun.
In a 70-mile swim over the course of two months, you can swim laps, kick a few with your buddies, float for laps - whatever gets you up and down the length of the pool.
So gather a few friends, spread the word about getting the kids off the street and helping them reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens while maintaining a healthy lifestyle for yourself!
Use our personal record sheet so you can always have your results with you.
Raise funds, feel good about yourself and lead the way to a better future for yourself and our youth!
The event has been shortened by an entire month, challenging this year’s participations to step up their activity level by at least 33% or encourage a friend to make positive changes in their life and become a member of your ‘team’.
Teams will also try to meet the staggering 70-mile goal this year, there is not a limit to the number of individuals who can make up a team. But, the kids will likely be more inspired by the competitors that work well together and try to get to Salem and back for a total of 140 miles!
We’ve met most of the participants and we feel that they can rise up to this year’s challenge. |
