2010 - 2011 GOTR of St. Louis Fundraising Page
“We believe that every girl can embrace who she is. Can define who she wants to be. Can celebrate differences. Can rise to any challenge. Can change the world. Can.” – Girls on the Run International.
We at Girls on the Run believe this about each and every girl. Each and every child. Perhaps that is why Girls on the Run – St. Louis has experienced exponential growth. In 2011, there will be at least 4,200 girls served and an estimated $225,000 awarded in scholarships. Wow. So it’s time to run for the girls! This page is where our SoleMates – dedicated, inspiring, superhero charity runners – are busy raising money for the scholarship fund. Our goal this year is a lofty goal, but we understand that as the program experiences tremendous growth, so must the fundraising. Therefore, we have a goal of $35,000 for this campaign. Please consider supporting one of our runners or the campaign as a whole.
Girls on the Run is an innovative health education and wellness program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk event with life-changing, self esteem enhancing lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active lifestyle for third through eighth grade girls. SoleMates is the adult charity running program of Girls on the Run. We are a team of female and male athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon, to raise money for Girls on the Run programs nationwide. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
