Racing to Support Girls on the Run
Hi my name is Abbie and I'm participating in a half marathon to raise money for Girls on the Run. The race takes place on May 2, 2010 in Eugene Oregon. My goal is to raise $262... this odd number represents how many miles are in a full marathon (26.2). Even though I'm only running half that my purpose is still the same. Girls on the Run is a great program. Along with training for the half-marathon, I am also going to be an assistant coach for a Girls on the Run team in the Corvallis area. This is my first year getting involved with this program. I'm very excited!
Total Donations Collected:$510.00
SoleMates is the charity running program for Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls age eight to thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a life time of self-respect and healthy living. Please check out our website at www.girlsontherunsolemates.org/.
