It is our honor and privilege to support the work of Women In Distress by walking in this event with our families, friends and neighbors. We hope you will join us to make a recognizable difference in our community by walking or running with us on October 26 or by making a donation toward our team's goal of $1,000.
To walk or run with our team, click above on "Register for this Event", choose the registration option you prefer (you may register as a guest if you're not an Active.com member), then select "Team Member Registration", and where you are asked, "What team are you joining?" select Fort Lauderdale Woman's Club. All registration fees count toward our fundraising goal! Added on Saturday, October 25: Note that online registration is closed as of today, but if you want to walk/run, just show up at the registration desk before 7:30am on Sunday.
If you can't be with us on October 26, do consider joining your financial contribution to ours. To be sure your gift is credited toward our goal, make your payment below (way below on this page). And then visit the tab up top marked "Invite Others to Contribute"!

Living our legacy begun in 1911, the Fort Lauderdale Woman's Club continues its work "for the cause that needs assistance, for the wrong that needs resistance, for the future in the distance, and the good that we may do."
The 10th Annual Women In Distress SAFEWALK-RUN 5K takes place on Sunday, October 26, at Markham Park in Sunrise. Registration is at 6:30am and teams walk/run at 7:30am. The 5k (3-mile) circuit should take about an hour to complete. Carpooling to/from the event is encouraged.
The progress bar below reflects donations only, but all registrations count toward our goal. Our walkers/runners for October 26 are: Alice Sakhnovsky, Nicholas Sakhnovsky (her husband), James Sakhnovsky (their son), Gretchen Thompson, Graham Pelley (Gretchen's friend), France Karr, John Karr (France's husband), Susan McClellan, Jeryl Madfis, Ellen Seaman, Linda Myrick, Deb Workman. Their registrations add $230 to the total below.
