Dear Donor, I am excited to be riding in the Stihl Tour des Trees this year to support the Bob Skiera Memorial Fund and the Safe Arborist Techniques Fund. The Bob Skiera Memorial Fund was recently established to create educational materials to help urban forestry and tree enthusiast communicate the "How properly managed and maintained trees improve the quality of life for people." message to everyone from preschooler to policymakers, through citizen groups, business groups, planners, developers, engineers, architects, and other professionals in other countries around the world. The Safe Arborist Techniques Fund was established to research the hazards associated with working in the industry to improve safety, reduce injuries, develop better methods, and extend the productive life of people working in the field. One of the statistics I am least proud of is the fact that the tree care industry is one of the top ten most dangerous professions. This fund will help the industry improve this rating and get arborist safely home every night to be with friends and family. Your donation may save someone's life, maybe even your own. when you make your donation please select which fund you would like to support. Thank you in advance for your support of the TREE Fund.

Proceeds from Stihl Tour des Trees will benefit the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund) and tree research and education programs around the world. U.S. currency donations made on behalf of a rider are 100% tax deductible in the U.S. Other nationalities please seek guidance from your tax specialist. Thank you for your generosity .

Sue Gaulke $100.00 "Have a great ride Jim, wish I could join you. See you Saturday for the Ride for Research :)"
Jerri Moorman $250.00 "May the wind always be at your back Jim - I know Bob has a grin his face from ear to ear!"
Bailey Hudson $50.00 "Hi Jim I have been researching people who enjoy dangerous jobs and generally live on the edge.My findings suggest these people produce larger amounts of testosterone than average. Could this be one of our safety problems that could be identified in the interview process ? This would be an interesting research project? On an other matter and in terms of urban forestry it is my opinion that we use the words tree benifits to often as opposed to tree servives.Cities do not necessarily provide benifits for their citizens. They offer servives that eventually benefit citizens. The point is urban forest services must be in place before benifits are realized. Your thoughts ?"
Jim Pennefeather $500.00 "Jim - Don't forget to get the biker pants with the pads on you seat - maybel Webber can fix you up with some special Arborware gear. In fact we should send you a Buckingham logo to put on your hardhat. Is Colleen riding with you? "
Ken and Deb Palmer $150.00 "Hey Jim! Just sent this same quote to our nephew who just yesterday, finished his ride across Japan..... Such a challenging and noble endeavor - we are proud of you! "It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle." ~Ernest Hemingway Ken and Deb ;-)"
ISA Staff $650.00 "ISA staff and friends want to show our support for our leader, "Yoda", on his quest to ride and help fund future research and initiatives as set forth in the Bob Skiera Memorial Fund and the Safe Arborist Techniques Fund. Go get 'em boss!"
Jennifer Burk $100.00 "Have fun, stay hydrated, and think happy tree thoughts."
John Burk $50.00 "Good luck cuz!...you should've thought this one through more though...I think they have these types of races IN CARS too...call it "The Denro Daytona" next time and you won't have to sweat as much and it won't take as long!"
tony gann $100.00 "Go luck Jim!"
Patricia Skiera $300.00 "Thanks for riding . Dad sure would have been proud of both you and Jessica. Sue and Jim are envious - they really wanted to ride. But then again, maybe next time."
