Running for our Wounded Warriors
I have been Blessed over the past 24 years to serve with some truly great Americans in the U.S. Army. Some of my fellow Soldiers, NCOs, and Officers have suffered devastating wounds and injuries during the past few years in Iraq and Afghanistan. Please join me in recognizing their sacrifices by pledging whatever you can afford to a great charity that helps keep our Wounded Warriors spirits up as they recover from their wounds in military hospitals around the world. I'm running the Marine Corps Marathon for all those who can't. I'm going to run a few miles (26.2 to be exact) and sweat a little to honor those who have fought and bled for us and our great Republic. Your kind consideration of my request for support in this endeavor would truly be appreciated. Thank you. ....................................................................................................................Steven Delvaux

"
Gina Campbell $73.00 "Steve, I checked the donations this morning and saw that you were short $73.00 of being at the 50% mark. So I have decided to donate another $73.00 in memory of my late Uncle, Brother J.D. Ellison. Mr. Ellison was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. His twin brother, J.C. Ellison was killed in the attack. I know they were in the army but unfortunately I have no idea what their rank was or what division they were in. After the military Mr. Ellison became a minister of the Missionary Baptist Church. He spent his life spreading God's word and I got a first hand view of what it was like for someone to give more than they received. This man had a great impact on my life and I miss him dearly. After his military funeral my Aunt, Mary Ellison presented me with the flag. One of the most precious moments of my life. So, in Memory of Brother J.D. Ellison and J.C. Ellison, I donate the remaining amount to hit 50%! God Bless Gina Campbell"

Bob & Maggie Boone $343.00 "My husband recently retired from Orange County Fire Department here in Orlando, Florida. Several of the retiree's started the 343 project. This project involves both actively working and retired firefighters who quietly attend the graveside services of fallen soldiers that live in our central florida area. This is a way of both remembering the 343 firefighters who died on September 11, 2001 and paying respect to the soldiers who are fighting this war on terror. They work with the funeral home and the Service representative first and then stand at a respective distance holding their helmets. Our thanks to Henry Arnold ( brother-in-law) for letting us know of the Wounded Warrior project good luck with the marathon. When my dad was buried at Arlington 10/2003 it was the weekend of the Marathon- and we were honored to watch and cheer for a short while. Gratefully- Bob and Maggie Boone"

We hope the war against terror will be over soon and all our brave sons and daughters, wives and husbands can return home safely. Until that time, and perhaps even long after, there will still be seriously ill servicemen and women undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at Walter Reed, Bethesda and elsewhere. With your help sponsoring an individual runner or Team Azalea Charities, we will not abandon them, nor will we forget them long after they are no longer making headlines These young men and women, together with their families, are our heroes and we will stand with them in their suffering, pray for them in our private moments and provide for them to the utmost of our ability. Thanks to your generosity, this project will go on for as long as necessary.
