| Azalea Charities, Aid for Wounded Soldiers is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization which provides comfort and relief items for soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines sick, injured or wounded from service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Depending on needs, donated items are distributed to Military Medical Centers, VA Medical Centers and Fisher House rehabilitation facilities each week. Many of the servicemen and women are grievously wounded and will require long hospitalization and rehabilitation. The purpose of the program is to lift their spirits and enhance their morale by contributing quality of life items.
TEAM Azalea Charities, is proud to be fielding its 2nd 'Run for Wounded Soldiers' team in this year’s Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) on October 28, 2007 as part of the MCM Charity Partnership program. Last year we had 12 runners and over 110 sponsors who raised almost $50,000, including one generous donor from Switzerland who more than matched what the team raised on its own. This year we’re building a team of 50 runners committed to seeking support from friends, family, small businesses, and corporate sponsors to help raise $150,000, our 2007 Run for Wounded Soldiers project fundraising goal. Please make a contribution below to the overall team, or sponsor an individual runner who may have pointed you to this page by going to the "View Fundraising Pages" drop down menu above. Thanks in advance for your support!!
