| 2011 Ride for Semper Fi |
|
| It's hard to believe, but we've started training already for the 2011 Ride for Semper Fi. Again this year I will join our team of about 50 riders in this amazing charity event as we ride from Scottsdale, AZ, through Imperial County, CA, and finally to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in downtown San Diego. The Ride will take place from October 12-15 and will prove to be as challenging as last year. In 2010 the team raised over $250,000 for our injured heroes. This year our goal is to raise $300,000.
The purpose of The Ride is to raise money for an organization called The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The sacrifices our military men and women make for our great country are heroic and selfless. As we hear and read on a regular basis, many of these brave men and women come back from battle severely injured. Their recovery is grueling, life changing, and financially and emotionally exhausting to them and their families. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is an organization that provides financial and emotional support to injured Marines and their families as they recover from injuries sustained during war. This organization relies solely on donations from people like you and me. Since it began, this organization has changed lives.
Founded in 2004, the Fund has awarded over 20,000 grants totaling over $40 million in support of Marines and their families. Please log on to www.semperfifund.org where you will see exactly what this group does and how they give back to those who have selflessly given so much. |
