| As we prepare for our 3rd journey across Arizona and California in an effort to raise money for injured Marines and sailors, I find myself reflecting back to the great people that we have had the pleasure of meeting along that same road the previous two years. Among them the great airmen, soldiers, sailors, Marines and proud Americans who recognize our duty as a nation to support our fighting men and women. Whether it be the mother with the enlisted child, the man with the war-hero father, the woman who's husband gave the ultimate sacrifice or your average citizen on the street, many recognize the necessity to help regardless of their feelings toward armed conflict. When I tell people we ride from Scottsdale to San Diego I often get the question, "why do you do that?" When I explain the work that the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund does that question is more than sufficiently answered. This ride isn't about the 50-some cyclists, support staff or even the dedicated people who put it together. It is ONLY about the lives that are changed by the funds we raise as we move closer to our goal. I am asking you to donate to this ride or consider what else you may be able to do to assist our troops. That is all, see you in San Diego and semper fi. OORAH! |
