The Ride for Semper Fi is a 430 mile bike ride from Scottsdale, Arizona to San Diego, California over 4 days beginning on Oct 13. I will be joining 50 other cyclists on this ride to raise awareness and money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps severly wounded Marines and Sailors in a variety of ways. Since its inception, in May 2004, the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund has provided over 20,500 grants totaling more than $40 million in assistance to our Nation's wounded and critically ill heroes and their families. These grants are made possible because of the generosity of people like you. As you may know, there has been an increased troop deployment in the Middle East and as a result, casualties are already approaching 2009 levels. Your help is needed now. I did this ride last year and can honestly say that while it was physically challenging, it was even more emotionally draining. I had the priviledge of riding with and talking to Marines every day during the ride and I thank God every day that we have such humble, dedicated and brave men and women protecting our freedom.
