| Why do I ride is the question most often asked? To me, it’s my opportunity to give back. I’ve been blessed with good health, job security, and a fabulous family. It’s easy to be complacent and take what I have for granted. It’s far too easy to sit back and do nothing for those not so fortunate. I’ve participated in many philanthropic opportunities over the years, many around cycling, but this is by far my biggest challenge. The 2010 Ride for Semper Fi is a charity bicycle ride that begins in Scottsdale, Arizona and ends three days and 430 miles later at Sea World in San Diego, California. This is the ride’s third year and began with training rides in June and continues until 45 of us make our journey on October 13th. Over the last two years the Ride for Semper Fi has raised more than $225 thousand dollars for our friends and partners at the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The Fund is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established to provide financial assistance and quality of life solutions to injured Marines and Sailors who suffer from life threatening injuries. Since the inception of the fund the IMSFF has provided more than 18,000 grants and $38 million dollars to those who have defended our liberties and freedoms. All donations are tax deductible. As I make the October ride from Phoenix to San Diego, I would appreciate your financial support for our wounded soldiers. I'll make the ride -- I respectfully ask you to contribute.
