| "Today 80% of the Autism population is under 18.
In 2005, The Center For Disease Control announces that autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States.
In 1994 the autism rate was rare and was estimated to be 1 in 10,000.
In 2004 the autism epidemic revised rate was estimated to be 1 in 200.
In 2005 the autism epidemic revised rate is now estimated to be 1 in 166.
February 2007 autism epidemic revised rate is now estimated to be 1 in 150."
Taking these statistics into consideration, I strongly believe that raising money to assist this growing population is necessary. I appreciate any money that you can donate towards helping children and adults with Autism. |

My Dear Family, Friends and Coworkers:
I am participating in the San Diego Race for Autism to fight the nation’s leading cause of childhood development disability. Today, Autism is more prevalent than childhood cancer, Down Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes combined. Autism is the fastest growing and most common childhood disorder today, with 1 in 166 children diagnosed with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism affects children of all races and economic levels, affecting boys 4 times more frequently than girls. No one knows how to prevent Autism or how to determine who is “at risk” or will be diagnosed next. Every 20 minutes, a family is receiving the devastating news - their toddler has autism. In San Diego, there are thousands of children and families living with Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Join our team and/or make a donation and help us reach our goal! Your generous donation of $25, $100, or $500 move us forward in understanding autism and developing better treatment programs. Money raised will go to support research and programs in San Diego.
Joining me in making a difference and thank you for your support! |
