| Hopes & Dreams for Mackenzie
I have registered to run a relay marathon for charity – the Asbury Park Marathon on October 17, 2010. I will be doing this charity run as part of Team Running on Love, a NJ Non-Profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Running on Love organizes charitable fundraising events for individuals helping them support noble and worthy causes of their own choosing. In this relay marathon run, I have chosen to support Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and will be completing this event in loving memory of my dear friend’s niece, Mackenzie Wright. I will be running 3 miles at this event as a symbol of courage, hope, and endurance in honor Mackenzie’s brave fight against cancer.
Mackenzie had been bravely fighting Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma since she was only 16 months old. She has undergone more medical procedures than most of us will our entire lives. Since her diagnosis, she has had 5 recurrences of this cancer, 2 major surgeries, and months of chemotherapy and radiation. Mackenzie was treated with chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for the areas of disease in her abdomen. Mackenzie's courage and strength have been an inspiration to her many, many friends and family members.
There is no "cure" for Mackenzie's cancer (yet!), so we need your help. Please consider supporting "Hopes & Dreams for Mackenzie" by making a donation to our team in honor of Mackenzie, her family and all the other courageous children fighting cancer. Money raised will go to MSKCC to help fund medical research for Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Together we can make a difference in the lives the families who have been affected by this terrible disease.
Please consider making a donation to our team in support of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to help support cancer research. Thank you for your support! |
