TEAM CONGO - Los Angeles

In 2005, Lisa Shannon founded Run for Congo Women, an event that would grow into a movement and help thousands of Congolese women rebuild their lives.

Welcome to Run for Congo Women 2010. Volunteers in cities across and beyond the US are hard at work planning Run for Congo Women events in their communities. These events raise local awareness about the Congo while raising funds for Women for Women International's Congo program.

Women for Women International is pleased to bring the Run for Congo Women movement to the Los Angeles area by forming a TEAM CONGO for the Santa Monica 5000 on September 12, 2010!

Minimum fundraising amount is $125 per adult/youth participant (5K and 10K) and $50 per child (ages 6-12, 2.7K dash).

Funds raised here benefit the entirety of our DR Congo program and cannot be applied to a sponsorship of a woman in our program. This page reflects the cumulative total of fundraising efforts of all TEAM CONGO - Los Angeles team members!
