| Yes, it's true. I am running the Chicago Marathon for the second year in a row - last year's disappointing cancellation only fueled my desire to do it again, who knew! Although I did finish last year, and with all of your generous help, I exceeded my fundraising goal and raised a total of $1050 for Y-Me (now Network of Strength) and my Pink Streak team!
This year, I'm pinkstreaking again - all for this amazing charity: The Illinois Network of Strength provides support to all who are affected by breast cancer: families, loved ones, co-workers, friends; anyone who is touched by this horrible disease in any way can find help through the Network of Strength.
I believe in this mission and have been indirectlly, and directly, touched by breast cancer through family members and friends who have had to deal with the life changes that breast cancer brings.
Until we find a cure, support networks are crucial in easing transitions and the pain tha comes along with a diagnosis. I run because I can, for everyone else that can't. And while I'm still able to just keep running, I will continue to raise money for what I believe in while I do it.
It is easy to donate on this site, but if you find that you can't donate today or this time around, know that I understand completely, and all I ask is that you think of me on October 12, 2008, as I go for those 26.2 miles all over again. I am going to plan a large fundraiser in september for those of you in Chicago - so look for updates on this website and through evites!
