Last year a very dear friend and colleague of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have worked with Mary for several years now and have seen the stress, anxiety, fear, and anger this illness has caused her. Mary is doing well, she has now completed her chemotherapy and has started radiation treatment. Believe it or not her treatment is nearing a year now, its a long painful process and the support we give to our loved ones is very important in this long process. I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon on October 12th to raise money for The Breast Cancer Network of Strength (formerly Y-ME) as this organization's sole purpose is to help those diagnosed find support and encouragement through these life changing months. I brought Mary to a support group recently and we were so happy to see so many healthy survivors absolutely full of life. I can't wait for Mary to be on that side of cancer. Please help me raise money so that others facing breast cancer will never have to do so alone! Thank you for visiting my site. |
