| Pflugerville Youth Football League (PYFL) is a non-profit organization established in 1994 to develop qualified young football players and cheerleaders into quality citizens through the lessons learned on the football fields and in the class rooms. Over the years, PYFL has grown from one team into several teams which range from ages 5 thru 12. All teams compete in the Central Texas Region of Pop Warner, each year. The mission of PYFL is to cultivate young athletes into strong community leaders, while teaching good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility and commitment. Since the inception of PYFL, students have gone through our organization and have graduated from high school and gone on to pursue college degrees. Some of those former players are attending Universities such as Texas Tech University, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor and the University of Texas to name a few.
Pop Warner is scholar based and academics are first and foremost. Participants are rewarded by their efforts in the class room as well as on the field. Each year, Pop Warner hosts a “Little Scholars” Banquet in Orlando, Florida or Anaheim, California for participants with a grade point average of 96% or better. Bi-weekly progress reports are required from each participant to ensure that this little scholar’s efforts in the class room are not being affected by his or her extra curricular activities. We provide guidance and tutoring where needed and/or requested from the participant or the participant’s parents. |
