| I am a team member of the Ocean of Hope (O2H), a group of paddleboarders and canoe paddlers who give back to the community by dedicating our time to helping others. O2H was created to support the Sarcoma Alliance, a nonprofit group that is the gathering place for those afflicted with sarcoma, a devastating cancer that is difficult to diagnose and even harder to cure. People who suffer from the disease and their families have a place to find guidance, education and support, as well as to find current medical information and treatment options, and to network with others. The Sarcoma Alliance is an invaluable resource for those with the disease.
We have dedicated our summer to training and raising money for the Sarcoma Alliance through the Ocean of Hope. We have all known someone who has had cancer or whose life has been affected by a loved one with cancer, it took my father in 2002.
On September 12, my team will be racing from Newport Beach to Catalina Island. We are dedicating our race to the Sea of People Affected by Cancer. I am excited to be able to use my energy and passion for paddling as a way to raise money to find hope and cure for cancer sufferers and survivors. I am proud to be a part of Ocean of Hope. Thank you for your support! ~ Dani |
