| As many of you know, I am an avid participant in water sports. Between paddleboarding, surfing, and outrigger canoe racing, i spend most of my free time on water and love every part of if.
But training and racing are not the only reasong for paddling. I am a team memeber of Ocean of Hope (O2H), a group of paddleboarders and canoe paddlers who give back to the community by dedicating our time to help others. O2H was created to support the sarcoma Alliance, a non profit group that is the gathering place for those afflicted with sarcoma, a devistating cancer that is difficult to diagnose and even harder to cure. People who suffer from the disease and their families have a place to find guidance, education and support, as well as to find current medical information and treatment options, and to network with others. The Sarcoma Alliance is an invaluable resourse for those with the disease. The money I rase through training and racing can help cancer sufferers and survivors find hope, life, and someday a cure. This has helped to make my racing and time i spend on the water much more valuable and meaningful.
The sarcoma Alliance is not a big, corperate organization. It does not have major sponsor or huger overhead costs. 100% of its donations goe directly to helping cancer patients help themselves through education and doctor netors. you can read more about the organization at www.sarcomaalliance.org.
