| Lise Fernow's Ocean of Hope Fundraising Campaign |
|
| As a member of Lanakila Outrigger Canoe Club, I train year round on the ocean, preparing for the summer racing season. This year, I am excited to use my passion for paddling as a way to raise money for a great cause! As a member of the Ocean of Hope (O2H) team, I have joined other outrigger canoe paddlers, as well as paddleboarders, who are training and racing to raise money for the Sarcoma Alliance. The Sarcoma Alliance is a nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to empower and educate those who suffer from sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. The Sarcoma Alliance provides an invaluable resource for those diagnosed with this rare and difficult cancer, as well as their family members, through guidance, education and support. This is a grass roots organization, where 100% of your donation will go towards those who suffer from cancer and to the resources which will help them. My family has been touched by cancer multiple times, and I hope that my efforts to raise money through training and racing will bring help, hope, and some day a cure, to others who are affected by the disease. On September 12, my team will be racing from Newport Beach to Catalina Island. We are dedicating our race to the Sea of People Affected by Cancer. I appreciate your part in helping me to reach my fundraising goal and to support this wonderful cause. Thank you! |
