| Lanakila Outrigger Ocean of Hope 2008 |

| We are the women from Lanakila Outrigger Canoe Club. As team members of Ocean of Hope, we are focusing our training, racing and fundraising efforts this year on the Catalina Crossing in September. We hope to surpass last year's fundraising of $4000 and to put Ocean of Hope and the Sarcoma Alliance on the outrigger paddling map. The U.S. Outrigger Championships, in its 49th year, expects over 1,000 paddlers from all over the globe to be participating in what is the best, the most competitive and the most exciting outrigger event in California. The women's race, held on Saturday September 6, will start at Newport Harbor and finish 27 miles later in Avalon at Catalina. The team is proud and honored to be a part of something this great and we know that every stroke of those 27 miles to Catalina is dedicated to the sea of people affected by cancer.
