Join Team PTs on Mountains as we climb 14ers to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. We are all associated with the profession of physical therapy (students, clinicians, instructors, researchers, etc), and during the month of August, members of the team will climb at least one 14er to raise money for the Rocky Mountain MS center. A team hike will be organized for Sunday, August 8th (Quandary Peak, 7-7:30 start time).
MS is a disease that disrupts communication from the central nervous system to the rest of the body. This can result in visual changes, muscle weakness, problems with balance, fatigue, numbness, and emotional and cognitive changes, among others. MS is most commonly diagnosed in young adults, and currently 1 in every 580 people in Colorado are thought to have MS.
Donate to our team on this page, or join by creating your own team member page by clicking the link on the top. You don’t need to be a physical therapist to join, you just need to like fundraising and hiking. Members are asked to donate at least $14 (if you want t-shirt) and fundraise at least $53 (for each 14er in Colorado).
Again, join our team, raise some money, and have some fun! Every dollar we raise will make a difference! For any questions about the team, contact Ryan Marker (ryan.marker@ucdenver.edu).
