Join the MSYPN Team and climb a 14er for a cause!
The MS Young Professionals Network (YPN) is forming a team to hike at 14er! There are many teams registered with the Rocky Mountain MS Center summiting various 14ers in Colorado throughout August. We call this movement, Multiple Summits for MS.
The YPN team will hike Mt. Antero on August 21, 2010. Mt. Antero is 14,269ft above sea level and is the 10th highest peak in the state of Colorado. It is also one of the easier 14ers in Colorado so we should all make it to the top! It is near the town of Buena Vista about 1-1/2hrs from the Denver area. Check out details of Mt. A minimum donation of $14 is required to join in. You get a sweet T-Shirt to show off your mountaineering skills and commitment to finding a cure for MS.
How you can join:
• Click on the "Create a Team Member Fund Raising Page!" on the top of the page. When you create a "Team Member Fund Raising Page" you will then create your own page through which you can send out emails to your family, friends and network and request their support.
• Simply make a contribution at the bottom of the page.
• Registration: Once you've created your team page and paid the $14 registration fee, please fill out THIS FORM and send it to Bridget Blanning. The MS Center team will then work with you to make sure you get your t-shirt and all your questions answered.
Climbing a 14er is kind of a big deal!
Please register so we can get everyone to the trailhead on time and back down safely. Mount Antero is a 4x4 entrance so accommodations need to be made to ensure everyone makes it to the Trailhead and back down safely. Arriving the night before to camp together would be ideal so that we can clang pots and pans to wake you up at 5am to get on the trail bright and early allowing enough time to summit and get down before any potential thunderstorms.
By coming together, we can raise awareness of MS and also much-needed funds for the Rocky Mountain MS Center. Encourage your friends, peers and colleagues to register quickly too! |
