| Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a highly misdiagnosed neuromuscular, autoimmune disease in which communication between nerve and muscle is impaired, causing weakness. The disease affects approximately twenty out of every 100,000 in the United States and can occur at any age. The most common symptoms, alone or in combination are: weak arms or breathing muscles, and manifestations such as droopy eyelids, double vision, difficulty in speech, swallowing, and smiling and generalized fatigue. The cause of the disease is unknown and there is no cure. Your donation will help our non-profit organization to provide information, support, and resources to NY Area MG patients, their caregivers and family members. In addition, the Metro NY Chapter MGFA contributes funds annually to the National Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America to support critical research efforts to find a CURE! Please consider using this tool to raise funds and more importantly, raise awareness of this disease.
