Tourette Syndrome is a misunderstood and misdiagnosed neurological disorder that's a lot more common than most people think. As many as 1 in 100 kids and adults show symptoms of TS.
Mendham high school senior Emily Carrara, in conjunction with the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome established this event in 2010 and we are proud to present the 2nd annual Mendham Walks for TS event on November 19th. We are asking for your help to raise awarness and support for families and kids with Tourette Syndrome.
Proceeds of the walk will benefit the programs and services of NJCTS- a statewide non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to support the needs of families with TS, to advocate for individuals with TS and to educate the public and professionals on TS.
Prizes will be awarded for the "Best Team Banner", "Best Hat", "Top Team Fundraiser" and "Top Individual Fundraiser". The Top Individual Fundraiser (must not be part of a team of more than one individual) will receive a one-night stay and breakfast at the Hanover Marriott. The Top Fundraising Team will receive a package of sports tickets: 4 tickets to a 2012 Somerset Patriots game, 2 tickets to a 2011-2012 Rutgers men's basketball game and 2 tickets to a 2011-2012 Rutgers women's basketball game.
