| Water for Mare Brignol |
|
| Mare Brignol is the remote Southeast Department of Haiti. The community's current water source is a spring with volume that varies considerably from season to
season. Individual family members must walk
up to seven hours each way to get water. Since
residents wash clothes and bathe in the water,
and animals are not prevented from defecating
in it, the water source is also a source of disease.
A rainfall catchment system will address the quantity problem, sand filtration will address the quality problem, and education will harmonize the solution. |
