I'm already loading up on carbs.

When I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2007, it turned my life upside down. I was overwhelmed and isolated because of the unrelenting symptoms, side effects from medication, hospitalizations and doctor appointments. The chronic pain and depression that resulted put my life completely on hold.

Eventually I had surgery to remove part of my small intestine and colon, and it helped to put me into remission. I have improved steadily since last year, but every day I still worry and wonder when my symptoms will return, since there is no cure for Crohn's.

That's why Tony and I are training to complete the Miami Half Marathon with Team Challenge. Each member of the team is trying to raise $3,900 to help the CCFA find a cure for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis. I have everything to gain from this opportunity. Nothing would mean more to me than a cure for Crohn's. Please help me by donating--every little bit helps. Thank you!

Please also visit Tony's donation page and help him meet his fundraising goal, too!

To listen to Crohn's patients describe their experiences with the disease, watch this interactive health guide and see an overview of Crohn's from the New York Times. You'll notice two people wearing Miami Marathon shirts in the video!
