Hello, my name is Chris and I hope you can help. My mother passed away when I was 11 and after raising 8 boys of her own, my grandmother stepped up and helped raise me too. During the last years of her life I watched her battle Crohn's disease, and because of her courageous battle, I have pledged to raise $3,600 AND run the ING Marathon to honor her and support the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
CCFA is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. I watched Crohn's disease make the last few years of my grandmother's life miserable, and if anything, I hope my contributions can help someone else avoid what she went through. My grandmother helped raise me to become the woman I am today and I am so thankful to have this opportunity to honor her.
This is an opportunity to provide funding to find out more about this disease that was discovered in 1932, and yet there is still so little known about it. There currently is no cure for Crohn’s, and doctors do not know the cause.
Please help support this endeavor, to not only tackle 13.1 miles, but also to provide funding to such a worthwhile cause. No donation is too small, and of course donations are tax deductible. |
