What: 5K run/walk to help raise money for childhood cancer research.
Where: Centennial Park, Nashville, TN – 2600 West End Ave. Nashville, TN 37203
When: Saturday, October 31st, 2009. Registration begins at 6:00AM with the race starting at 7:30AM
This event is held in honor of Joseph Peabody, whom, at the tender age of 3, in November of 2007, was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor, located in his cerebellum and brain stem. After several brain surgeries, radiation, and clinical trial chemotherapy, Joseph passed on August 21st, 2008, the day after his 4th birthday. In loving memory of Joe P., this event is held to raise money for pediatric cancer research, specifically brain tumors. All money raised will go to the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research which funds better treatments with fewer long-side effects and cures for childhood cancers. To participate in the 5K run/walk, registration fees will be $25 per person, with a $30 fee to register the day of the race. The race will be for all ages, with awards presented to the top competitor male/female, in each age group.
