| Jacob Helvey, a precious 3 yr old little boy was seriously injured on Dec. 24th in a tragic accident. Jacob was crushed by an elevator & was unable to breath for ~ 15 minutes. It took the Jaws of Life to remove the elevator off of his little body. Jacob was not expected to survive. Due to the quick response of Forsyth County Sheriff and Fire Dept. and the grace of God, Jacob survived. He now faces an incredibly difficult journey to return to health.
In just a few miraculous filled weeks, Jacob has been taken off the ventilator & is able to breathe on his own through a tracheotomy. Out of ICU, he is starting his very long rehabilitation journey. Although it is not known the extent of his brain injury, the doctors & therapists at Children’s Hospital Atlanta are working daily with Jacob to regain his physical and verbal abilities.
This is a situation that no parent ever wants to experience. The emotional and financial weight is daunting and one that is impossible to prepare for. Jacob’s mother is unable to work now because she going step by step hourly with her son through rehab. Jacob’s father is self employed and is trying to continue part time with his work, so he can support his family and ensure Jacob can come home to the only home he has ever known.
This is a very difficult situation and his parents are handling it with grace, patience, and faith. It has taken some time for them to come to the realization that they need help. It is expected that the emotional cost of this tragedy will go on for years and unless a miracle happens, the financial cost could last much longer. If you can support this family with a financial donation, it will take off some of the financial weight off of his parents. Please pray for the healing of little Jacob Helvey, it will bring miracles.
