The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale is proud to announce The 9th Annual Riverwalk Run to take place on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 7:00am. The course begins in downtown Fort Lauderdale at Huizenga Plaza and brings participants on a journey along the New River and through the neighborhood of historic Rio Vista.  This event includes something for everyone, even the kids.  Choose to participate in the 5 mile run, 5K run, 5K fitness walk or enter the kids in the 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run.  We invite you to stay afterwards and take part in the post-race brunch.

The event benefits the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s current projects:

• Transitional Independent Living (Adolescents who age out of the foster care system)
• Childhood Fitness and Nutrition
• Ronald McDonald House
• Leeza’s Place

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale has created several of Broward County's top charitable organizations. Over our 70 year history, we have invested millions of dollars, matched by millions of volunteer hours in improving the lives of our neighbor's right here in Broward County. We have trained thousands of women to address community needs and to take on leadership roles at every level.
