| Dear family and friends,
Many of you know that my beautiful daughter Ashley was diagnosed in second grade with Bipolar Disorder. It has been a long difficult road. At that time people did not talk about mental illness. We have been through so many doctors, testing, different medicines, hospitals not to mention the struggles with schools. As a parent this is heartbreaking. I would do anything to make it better for her. In our journey we have found the International Bipolar foundation. It has been a great support to all of us and many other families. They offer caregiver support groups, consumer support groups, buddy programs, monthly speakers, two monthly newsletters, research and outreach and referral programs.
I am excited to announce that I will be running the 2012 Carlsbad Marathon for the International Bipolar Foundation. This is the first time the IBF has had a marathon team. What a great way to get way to get started in erasing the stigma of mental illness. I run in honor of Ashley and all the others who suffer from mental illness. Your support would be so appreciated. Together we can make a difference. Your donation is tax deductible. You can donate safely online at http://www.active.com/donate/IBPF/ChrisiHard or mail me a check made out to the International Bipolar Foundation.
