Hunger Walk 2009 To Benefit the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center
A 5k walkathon to raise money to fight hunger in the Morristown area and support the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center
Since 1984, the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center has served a hot noon-time meal, 365 days a year, never missing a day! We serve as many as 300 men, women and children a day -- among them are the working poor, elderly, disabled and homeless. In 2008 alone, we served 53,728 meals and through our Outreach Center we provided over 2,800 referrals for additional services to adults and children in need. So far in 2009, the number of guests relying on our meals and services has increased by 33%. By participating in our Hunger Walk 2009, or sponsoring a walker, you are helping us to ensure that we never have to turn away a guest that comes through our doors.
