You can make history happen by joining the Hike for History 2007!
Saturday, June 30
8 a.m. - noon
Starting location: UIC Campus
The Hike for History brings together students, teachers, alumni, and community members who want to support the Chicago Metro History Fair, discover Chicago history, and celebrate the Fair’s 30th Anniversary. You do not have to be a super athlete to be a Hike for History superstar -- the leisurely 5k (about 3 miles) walk is manageable for participants of all ages and athletic abilities. The tour begins at the University of Illinois at Chicago campus and winds through the city's Little Italy and University Village neighborhoods. Historical highlights include such favorites as Hull House, Maxwell Street, and the origin of the Chicago Fire, along with lesser-known features including historic churches and neighborhood history.
The Hike for History benefits the Chicago Metro History Fair and the students and teachers who participate. Each year nearly 20,000 students and 400 teachers take up the challenge of exploring, analyzing, and presenting Chicago's history. Schools from across the socioeconomic spectrum participate in the History Fair, with about two-thirds of participants coming from low-income backgrounds. Your contributions help ensure the future of the Chicago Metro History Fair.
I want to Register for the Hike for History. If you are setting up or joining a team, be sure to select "Team Rate." Your individual and/or team fundraising page will be set up automatically when you register. (Note: The red "member pricing" on the right applies only to active.com paid members. You can ignore it if you do not wish to become a member of the Active Network.)

If you cannot attend on June 30, but would like to become a fundraiser anyway, we would love to have you participate. Your fundraising center will allow you to further customize your site, set a fundraising goal, and communicate with your donors.
