I will be participating in the Circle of Life IU Mini Marathon 5K walk on Saturday, April 4th, in Bloomington, IN, as a member of the Hoosier Oncology Group's Road HOG Champions on Team Cure4Sure.

All Road HOG Champions are raising funds for cancer research. I'm walking in honor of those who are currently battling cancer. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

So, why am I motivated to finish the race? Here are four reasons:

1) In HONOR of two special people who are currently in the throws of their battle: Julie Hackenmiller and Becky Hamm. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

2) In memory of my Grandma and Judy Heimberger whose lives were taken by cancer.

3) To raise money for cancer research in the hopes that future generations will not know the pain of cancer.

4) To deny my body from claiming its chronological age!
