Go Gilda Go!
Executive Director Gilda Nardone, who has led Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community (WWC) since it began in 1978, will carry WWC into its 35th year by leading the organization’s relay team in the REV3 sheJAMs Triathlon on Aug. 25th.

While celebrating 35 years of helping Maine people succeed in their workplace, business, and community - WWC is thrilled to announce it is one of the organizations chosen by sheJAMs to benefit from the REV3 sheJAMs Triathlon on Aug. 25th in Old Orchard Beach.

“We are so honored and pleased to be one of the beneficiaries along with Girls On The Run-Maine,” said Nardone. “This event is supporting women and girls while promoting a healthy lifestyle. It just feels like the right fit for us to launch our 35th anniversary.”

The REV3 sheJAMs Triathlon is a race just for women held concurrently with the larger nationally organized REVOLUTION3 Triathlon. Old Orchard Beach will be welcoming more than 1,500 participants to a world class venue – and offering fun activities for children and family members during the race.

All donations to TEAM WWC will help the organization continue the important work of improving the economic lives of Maine people through business planning, charting new career paths, gaining control over personal finances, and engaging in community leadership. TEAM WWC's goal of $3,000 is part of our larger 35th anniversary goal of raising $35,000. WWC is a statewide organization, and all services are free to participants.

Nardone is the opening leg for TEAM WWC – leading with a .9 mile swim in the ocean at Old Orchard Beach. Nardone will then hand off to Laurie McDonnell, workforce and asset development coordinator for WWC’s Western Region, who will bike 25.51 miles. McDonnell will then hand off to Gigi Guyton, microenterprise coordinator of WWC’s Southern Region, who will end the event with a 6.2 mile run.

Join Gilda, Laurie, and Gigi in continuing to help Maine people succeed in their workplace, business, and community by donating today. You can learn more about WWC at www.womenworkandcommunity.org
