| Athletic Expansion Campaign |

In an effort to strengthen the financial condition of Northern athletics and meet our goals of sponsoring additional sports, we are embarking on an aggressive athletic development effort. To become competitive on a national level in the NAIA, fund more athletic scholarships and create additional opportunities for Northern student-athletes, we must secure funding from other areas and not rely solely on state funding. The athletic department has launched an online giving initiative to help it reach it’s fundraising goals.
The primary goals of our online giving program are to help enhance the overall athletics program, provide improvements to athletic facilities at the Espanola and El Rito campuses, expand sports medicine, and sponsor additional sports. Raising an additional $50,000-$60,000 per year ($180,000) over 3 years would allow Northern athletics to reach its goals without any additional state funding or increase in student fees.
Ticket sales, concessions proceeds and booster club memberships will not be enough to provide our student-athletes with a first class experience. It will take the generosity of Eagle supporters from across Northern New Mexico and beyond to continue to recruit talented student-athletes and hire experienced and gifted coaches to make our program a success. |
