Thank you for considering making a donation to the DMSE Children’s Fitness Foundation(DCFF), which is committed to funding nonprofit organizations that use running as a vehicle to promote physical fitness in children. According the U.S Center for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 30.3 percent of children ages 6 to 11 are overweight and 15.3 percent are obese. The DCFF exists to fight against this battle and your support helps us provide opportunities for children to have healthy lifestyles.
Why do we focus on running? Running is so much more than physical exercise – it is an activity that has the ability to build self-value, self-esteem and self-confidence – three very important elements in a child’s life. All of us at the DCFF are runners and we know first hand of how powerful running is. Sharing this gift with children is our way of building a healthier future. In an effort to raise money for the DCFF and draw attention to the importance of making sure our kids have healthy lifestyles, every year we execute an annual 10-day running adventure called TREK USA Relay for Kids. This year’s relay will take our team through the six New England states from May 9 to May 18th and will start and end in Boston, MA. For more information, please visit www.trekusa.org.
