Thanks for checking out this site. We all know someone fighting cancer, someone who has died of cancer or we, ourselves, are cancer survivors. Not only does it affect us physically and emotionally, but also financially. It can wipe out someone's life savings in an instant! So not only do people with cancer worry about saving their lives, they worry about how they are going to pay for treatment, surgery or medications. No one facing cancer needs this added burden.
My hope is to lessen the financial burden for firefighters with cancer. Why firefighters? Because they have saved countless lives at the risk of their own lives. These men and women derserve the help of the communities they protect and serve.
I'm committing my racing and training efforts to raising money for our heroes.
On Sept 28, 2014 I finished Ironman Chattanooga (144.6 miles). I ran a 50k (32 mile) trail race on October 24th and will sprinkle a few other ultra marathons before my first 100 mile endurance run sometime in the late fall of 2015.
Let's help our courageous brothers and sisters battle cancer.
