| Seven million Californians are functionally illiterate according to a survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Education. The Coalition to Improve Education provides an intensive reading remediation program for low-performing students with a vision to raise achievement levels and develop character and leadership in our nation one student at a time. Pledges donated to our team, the C.I.E. Scholars - Pledge Code #13 in The Race For Humanity will help us fund a program for the neediest children in the Temecula Valley because we believe that one of the most effective way to remedy social problems is to teach children and adults the priceless skill of reading. |
