On October 11, 2009 I will be participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a member of the Healthy Schools Campaign team! Running the 26.2 mile course will require a strong commitment to the months of training, discipline, and motivation necessary to cross the finish line.
By running for the Healthy Schools Campaign, I am working to not only succeed on marathon day, but also to help children succeed in school and in life. I am raising money for HSC because every student should have equal access to a healthy school environment, including nutritious foods, plenty of physical activity, and clean, healthy air to breathe.
Healthy Schools Campaign addresses the growing problems of obesity and asthma among schoolchildren by promoting improved nutrition, increased physical activity, and healthy environments. Healthy Schools Campaign's programs are making a difference in Chicago, throughout Illinois, and across the country.
