The Dream:
My dream is to conquer the Emmons Glacier on Mount Rainier!
In April, I was invited to participate in one of Outward Bounds Leadership Development Courses from July 4th through July 11th. Whether the journey consists of a summit bid or not, I look forward to the challenge and am sure I will take away many positives I can use on the mountain, in business and in life in general.
Having a growing passion for mountaineering, I am very excited to incorporate the trip as the pilot for one of the Rocky Mountain MS Center’s newly established programs. It is called Chasing Dreams for MS (PLEASE ASK ME ABOUT THIS AND I CAN TELL YOU MORE). The program will highlight individuals who have personal goals in conjunction with their connections to MS and their passion to support the cause.
Why I Choose To Climb for MS and the Rocky Mountain MS Center:
After my own personal “Rule Out” in 2007 and going through the stages of being diagnosed, I was exposed to the world of MS. After being watched for a year, I received a very promising outcome. No evidence of MS and no diagnosis. Throughout that experience, I was so heavily impacted and wondered what I could do to get involved and give back. I am excited to say that I have recently joined the Board of Directors at the Rocky Mountain MS Center to help those who live with MS and to do what I can to strengthen the center directly.
There are so many exciting things I am beginning to learn about at the Rocky Mountain MS Center and, at this point, to help raise funds to find a cure is my driving force.
I will be attempting to conquer Mount Rainier and am asking the people I know to help support my climb, but more importantly, support MS and the Rocky Mountain MS Center. Donations go directly to the Rocky Mountain MS Center and are tax deductable.
