2010 CT Jamboree
Ride for a Cause

What: 2 Days. 74 miles. 9,640 feet of elevation gain. Mountain bike through the San Juan Mountains along the scenic Colorado Trail from Molas Pass to Junction Creek trailhead in Durango.

Why: This demanding ride will benefit the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center (RMMSC). The RMMSC, which was founded more than 30 years ago, is a Colorado-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with MS through care, support, education and research. Additionally, 5% of proceeds will support the Colorado Trail Foundation and Trails 2000 to continue our support of this precious outdoor recreational resource- The Colorado Trail.

When: July 24-25, 2010

Where: The ride begins 45 miles north of Durango at Molas Pass in the center of the San Juan Mountains. Riders head south for roughly 36 miles on the Colorado Trail toward an area known as Hotel Draw where support vehicles will meet riders with camping gear, food and refreshments for a night of celebrating and recovery. The following day the ride continues south for about 39 miles into the La Plata Mountains and the final rigorous stretch of the Colorado Trial. A post-ride party for all riders will be held in Durango on Sunday at 7:00 pm to celebrate the experience of riding perhaps the finest stretch of alpine single track on the planet!

How: Register online at http://www.ctjamboree.com/registration.asp. by July 9th

Each participant is strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of $500 in pledges and/or direct donations. The CT Jamboree Ride for MS hopes to raise $50,000, which will support the work of the RMMSC and thereby directly impact the lives of Coloradans who live with the disease, as well contributions to the Colorado Trail Foundation and Trails 2000.

Each participant is responsible for all of their own biking equipment, clothing, camping gear, trail food etc. Dinner on the 24th and breakfast on the 25th will be provided at Hotel Draw. Riders will meet at Molas Pass promptly at 5:45 a.m. on the 24th of July for check-in. Here they can drop off pledges and camping gear and support vehicles will transport their gear to Hotel Draw.
